Book Review: Clouds

Title: Clouds
Subtitle: Book #5 in The Glenbrooke Series
Author: Robin Jones Gunn
Genre: Christian Fiction/Young Adult

I have never read a book by Robin Jones Gunn.  This was my first!  Now I am wondering why I waited so long.  I really enjoyed it.  I think that the book is generally written for young adults in their late teens and early twenties.  I am 37 years old and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  It was an easy read but had a powerful message!

Clouds is the fifth book in the Glenbrooke series.  I had no trouble reading this book even though I had not read the first four books.   Don't let the fact that you haven't read the first four stop you from reading number five.  You don't need the background from books 1-4 to read and enjoy number 5.

I won't give away the ending because it is a bit of a surprise.  The book is about Shelly, a single girl in early adulthood struggling with where she should be in her life in regard to her love life, her career and her relationship with the Lord.  It is a struggle that many of us are experiencing or have gone through in the past.  Shelly works through her issues and strengthens her relationship with the Lord.

I would recommend this book. It is an inspirational story of first love and redemption.  It would be a great book for teen girls to read to help them through the difficult young adult years.  Older adults will enjoy the easy read and the love story.
