Title: Bible Stories for His Beautiful Princess
Author: Sheri Rose Shepherd
Illustrator: Shelley Dieterichs
Genre: Children's Devotional Storybook
I chose to review this book because I have two daughters. My oldest is almost 9 and my youngest is almost two. I loved that this book wanted to teach my daughters that they are both a "precious daughter of the King- a true beautiful princess."
The book contains 37 Bible stories for you to read with your daughter. Each story starts with a scripture verse from the Bible story passage. The author then writes the Bible stories in wording that is easy for young children to understand. The wording still remains true to the actual meaning of the Word. Each story is also peppered with the most adorable illustrations and finishes with a "princess prayer" and a "princess jewel" which is a thought for the day to think on.
The book is ideal for girls that are the age right in between my two daughters. My little one will grow into it but my older one is a bit too old for it. The nice thing is that my older daughter likes to read to my little one so I can see her enjoying reading this book to her little sister in the future.
I love this book and I would recommend it for any parent or grandparent of little girls. I think the author made great choices with the stories she included in the book. The dialogue is appropriate for little ones and the princess jewels at the end of each chapter are thoughts that any parent would love their daughter to understand and apply. The illustrations are darling and the perfect compliment to the book. This book would make a great birthday gift for that special little princess in your life.
