Let's Pley: Netflix for Legos- Review and GIVEAWAY

Are you tired of paying a fortune for Legos?  I know that I am!  We pay so much for Lego sets that our kids play with for a few hours to put together and then often don't touch again.

I had the opportunity to test out the Pley Lego rental website.  Yes!  It is as awesome as it sounds.  It is just like the old school Netflix but for Lego sets.

When you sign up for Pley, you sign up for one of three monthly membership plans, the more you pay, the larger the sets that you can choose.    After you choose your set, a few days later this box arrives at your door...

The box included the directions and the Legos in a mesh bag.  The Legos were washed and sanitized after the last family used them.  The box was also checked to make sure that all of the pieces were present.  They even have a place on their website where kids can act as "Lego detectives" and report missing pieces.  This helps the company to identify incomplete sets.

The box that the Legos come in also serves as a handy place to hold the Legos while your child is building their creation!  This was super helpful as Sydney got right to work as soon as she opened her box.  Your child can decide how long they would like to hold on to the set.

Sydney decided the next day that she was ready for a new set.  Just like with movies and Netflix, you can watch it once and send it back or you can hold on to it awhile and watch the movie over and over.  Sydney wanted to try another set right away.

We packed up the set carefully and put it back into the mesh bag and blue box that it was delivered in.  The set came with a prepaid shipping sticker to put on the box.   All I needed to do was add two strips of packing tape to the box and it was ready to go.  Her second set arrived 5 days after we mailed the first set back.  It is great, you can get as many sets as you want during the month.  It is free shipping both ways!

All in all Pley has come up with a fantastic idea!  I wish I had thought of it!

I recommend Pley for families with kids of all ages.  My Sydney absolutely loved it!  As a mom, I found it super easy to navigate and manage!  Pley has 3 pricing plans so there is one for every budget.  They have hundreds of sets to choose from for all ages.  The sets are simple like Duplo to advanced like Star Wars!

If you are looking for a gift for the "kid who has everything."  This would be perfect!  What kid doesn't love to get mail, especially Lego mail?

Pley even sweetened the deal by giving me two memberships to give away to my readers!  Woo Hoo!  I have a 6 month Super Fan membership and a 3 Month Super Fan membership.
You can enter below and I will use Rafflecopter to draw the two lucky winners!

Even if you don't win, Pley has made everyone a winner and will be giving everyone that enters a Promo code for a FREE one month trial membership to Pley as soon as the raffle ends!

Everything is Awesome!

Virtue Training Bible: Review and Giveaway

If you are a parent and want to teach your children the virtues from the Bible then you need to put together a Virtue Training Bible!

What is a Virtue Training Bible?

Taken from the VTB website:  The Virtue Training Bible is tool that allows parents and children (and anyone that loves the Word of God) to go directly to the pages of Scripture for instruction in 42 virtues.  The VTB emphasizes worship of our Triune God.  The yellow tabs at the top, right provide further study of the Trinity.

The VTB was designed with John 15:4-5 in mind.  "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:4-5)

What is included in your VTB kit?

You will receive instructions, 1 key and 3 laminated double sided tabbing cards

What else did I buy to complete the VTB?

A Bible

I purchased this hardcover ESV version on Amazon.  It is selling for $12.69.  It works well because it is hardcover and the exact size that is needed to fit the key inside the front cover. I recommend taping a picture of your family on the front as a reminder that God's Word is for the entire family.

Highlighter Set

I bought this set on Amazon for $11.99.  It is not necessary for you to purchase this exact set.  If you already have highlighters to use, you can use them.  I made the purchase because I wanted to make sure I had the colors that were needed to match up with the key.

Post it Flags

I bought the Post It flags on Amazon for $8.78.  You don't need these specific flags but they work really well since they have the colors to match the key and the highlighters.  You will need to purchase two sets for the VTB.

If you purchase the Bible, highlighters and post it flags on Amazon, you will reach the required amount to receive free shipping.

How do you make a Virtue Training Bible?

I will not lie to you, the VTB takes a while to put together but it is worth every minute.  It helped me to put it together myself because I was able to reacquaint myself with the verses that I would need to teach my child the virtues in the Word.

This is what the VTB looks like with just the first three virtues tabbed.

I have read the Bible through from Genesis to Revelation several times but I still needed to be reminded of these verses.  By taking the time to tab and highlight them for myself, I was preparing myself for when I will teach these verses to my children.

The kit comes with instructions and there is also a video tutorial on the Virtue Training Bible Website. The explanation is very clear and easy to follow.

How does the Virtue Training Bible Work?

When you want to use the VTB to teach your children, you use the laminated cards to find the virtue you want.  For example, I wanted to teach my daughter (age 8)  about forgiveness.  Her brother (age 3) committed an offense against her and she was upset about it.  I wanted her to forgive him so I turned to the marked sections of my VTB about forgiveness.  The laminated cards also come with suggested prayers for that virtue.

The makers of the VTB also created a Child Training Bible!

Read my review of the Child Training Bible!  You are going to want to order both!

Are you ready to get started?

You can order the Virtue Training Bible Kit for $9.00 plus shipping from the Virtue Training Bible Website. You can read more reviews on their Pinterest page.

Book Review and Giveaway

Today I am reviewing "Devotions, Advice & Renewal for When Motherhood Feels Too Hard." I was sent a copy to review by the author Kelly Crawford of Generation Cedar.

There are days that I am overwhelmed by motherhood.  It is absolutely exhausting to be a mom!  We wear so many hats: nurse, teacher, chef, cleaning lady, social director, taxi driver, ok you get the idea.  If you hear someone say that being a mom is easy, you are probably not talking to an actual mom!

It is the most difficult job out there but is the most rewarding.  I am truly blessed to have three wonderful children.

"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him."
Psalm 127:3

Every night I try to get some quiet time for myself after the kids go to bed and before I am too tired.  I like to read my Bible and work on a Bible study.  This book, "Devotions, Advice & Renewal for When Motherhood Feels Too Hard," would be a perfect book to read after a long day as a mom.

A few reasons why I think that moms would enjoy this book:

1. It is broken into short (less than 2 page) chapters that will only take a few minutes to read.   It is a short concentrated study that lasts 31 days.

2. It is written by a real mom (with 9 children) that understands how hard it is to be a mom.  She provides real encouragement based on the Bible and her own experience.

3. The price is very reasonable at a cost of $8.99 for paperback version, $4.97 for e-version and there is even a bulk rate available for a Bible study.

I have exciting news!  I am giving away my copy of this book.  You can enter the raffle below.  I will mail out a copy of the book to the winner.
